Fortunes are made, and destroyed by human greed. Life is built by not taking chances!
I felt compelled to make this as a second entry to the Diva's challenge named after fortune teller, so that I could tell this story. In fact we were at 'Genting Heights', the entertainment complex of Malaysia, into the clouds at around 8000 feet above mean sea level on Monday.
I could check my mail to see the new challenge when we were entering the casino zone. It was the first exposure for me where hundreds of men and women were vying for making a fortunes through game of chance! Thousands of dollars were changing every few minutes!
By chance the title for the challenge had connection with fortune!
I had just completed the previous day offering a 3 day seminar on 'Heart of Effective Leadership' to an assorted participants from South East Asian countries. My thoughts went particularly to a Cambodian ex soldier who was one of the participants. He is on wheel chair since a long time ago when he had lost both his legs in a mine blast during civil war. He was to get married, but after losing his legs, the girl's parents decided against the marriage.
Life played dice with him. He fought with life. He decided not to beg on streets but live a life of honor. And he was at the seminar to learn how to offer leadership to hundreds of mine blast victims in his country, through two of his NGOs, to keep them away from beggary. To give them a life of honor too! He can not take chances.
Between these two contrasting stories I took liberty to bend some rules, and created my responses to the Diva's challenge while being at the Casino, and in the flight next day. The first one was posted on Tuesday, soon after my arrival back in Bangalore, and the other two are presented here now.
Hope you like them.

Love the top one...it is stunning!
ReplyDeleteI love your take on this challenge and how you oriented the tiles. Very beautiful:)
ReplyDeleteBoth tiles are wonderful and reflect the depth of feeling that you put into this challenge. Your comments are very thought provoking.
ReplyDeleteI like the layout of your tangles, it makes them more unique.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing the story and your insight our world is mysterious indeed!
ReplyDeleteDilip, the one on top, is beautiful. The bottom square actually resembles and elephant, was that intentional or accidental? The other one is also beautiful. I like the way the triangles fill the page.
ReplyDeleteDear Shatril,
DeleteYes, indeed it was an accidental resemblance to elephant. Now that you too have found it to be so, I will create one Ganesha on these lines. Thanks.
